New England Tiki @ Silver Girl

silver girl event

You're invited to a super fun evening of escapism and edutainment at Silver Girl in West Acton! Enjoy a delicious mid-century-inspired buffet dinner, specialty tiki cocktails, and a fascinating presentation by Kevin Quigley, author of NEW ENGLAND TIKI. Dive into the unusual Tiki history of a nautical region whose history is more North Atlantic than South Pacific. New England's history with Tiki winds through traditional tropical bars and revival waystations, as well as a fascinating regional tradition of Asian-American restaurants forging a unique new path. It's a tale of pilfering beachcombers, enterprising women, and one of the country's last grand Tiki temples left standing.

So don your Mid-Century Mod and Polynesian Pop finery and head on down for a night of 'Ohana at Silver Girl in West Acton! More info and tickets here.

“Science is now revealing how the flow of thoughts actually sculpts the brain. Solidly grounded in the latest neuroscientific research, and supported by a deep understanding of contemplative practice, this book is accessible, compelling, and profound – a crystallization of practical wisdom!”  – Philip David Zelazo, Ph.D., University of Minnesota

Just like yoga, a good book is always better when shared with a group.  Book Club Meets the Mat combines the fun and connection of a book club community with the healing nature of a yoga class. Amy invites you to “pull up a bolster” to discuss our quarterly book of choice and stay for a rejuvenating yoga practice that will settle your mind and nourish your body. This workshop is a wonderful opportunity to deepen your yoga practice and perhaps meet a new friend!
