If you have a teen working on college applications this fall, here's something worth knowing about: Open Door Education is bringing a free College Essay and Common App workshop to Danny's Place on Saturday, September 26th, from 10am to noon. It's led by Rebecca "Bee" Loprete, PhD, an experienced essay and application coach who will work with students on the actual writing, practical strategies, real time to write, and individualized feedback on their drafts. The goal is for every student who shows up to leave with something they're proud of in their own voice, not a polished version of what someone else thinks they should sound like.
